Thanksgiving for a Good God

God’s people have so many things for which to be thankful and this week is a good opportunity for us to reflect upon how good the Lord has been to us. I preached this sermon entitled Thanksgiving for a Good God about this time of year back in 2017 at New Hope PBC in Jacksonville, AR. I’m posting it here for my church family who were not there to hear it. I don’t remember much about it, except that I was feeling thankful coming to the end of a very rough year and that I chose Psalm 18 for my text.

“And he said, I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” (Psalm 18:1-3)

I’m so thankful for the grace of Christ and for all my brothers and sisters in the Kingdom of God, especially those of like precious faith at Harmony church.
