THE LORD JESUS CHRIST - THE SUCCESSFUL SAVIOR OF HIS CHOSEN SHEEP

If you have ever attended or listened to our services, you have probably heard us speak of Jesus Christ as our SUCCESSFUL SAVIOR. That is how we refer to Him. We preach and believe in a risen Lord who accomplished the salvation of His people, not a “savior” that tries to save people and often fails to do so. We use this term purposefully to highlight the contrast between the Jesus of the bible and the impotent “Jesus” found in much of modern Christendom. The distinctions between an UNSUCCESSFUL SAVIOR and a SUCCESSFUL SAVIOR are stark when you take a look.

“JESUS” THE UNSUCCESSFUL “SAVIOR”

  • Died for everyone, but some that he died for will spend eternity in hell

  • Is in heaven weeping because some will not be saved

  • Is waiting to be introduced to His eternal family when the world ends

  • Is helpless without preachers intervening to save people to heaven

  • Needs more money to get people saved

  • Is making a well-meant offer for all men to be saved

  • Loves everyone but will send some He loves to hell on the final day

JESUS THE SUCCESSFUL SAVIOR

  • Died to save the elect, given to Him by the Father (John 6:37-39, 10:26-29)

  • Is seated with the Father, victorious in salvation (Psalm 24:7-10, Isaiah 53:11, Hebrews 12:2)

  • Knows every lamb in His flock and loves them with an everlasting love (John 10:27)

  • Trod the winepress alone and saved His people by His merits alone (Isaiah 63:3-5)

  • Redeemed by His blood those for whom He died (1 Peter 1:19)

  • Saved His people from their sins at Calvary (Matthew 1:21, 12:20, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Psalm 98:1)

  • Loves His elect family, His sheep, who will all be with Him in glory (Matthew 25:33-46)

  • Will cast the goats into hell for all eternity (Matthew 25:33-46)
