Finding the Primitive Baptist Church

I grew up in the Methodist Church with my family. I also visited the Missionary Baptist with friends. When I was 16, I joined the Methodist Church but I asked to be baptized by immersion. I knew that much about the Bible. That was unheard of in the Methodist Church but they did take me to the Ouachita River and baptized me there.

When I was 17, I married Larry Burnett. At first we went to my church one Sunday and to his church the next. I soon saw the truth and rejoiced but I used the excuse that I had already been baptized to keep myself from joining. After a few years, I realized I would have no peace and happiness until I walked down that aisle and begged for a home. I asked to be baptized right then. They explained that it would have to wait a bit, because of the time it takes to fill the baptistery.

I have been blessed in too many ways to mention in the Lord’s church but the main blessing I have experienced is to see three of my children become faithful members there. I look forward to being there every time the doors are open. It is the highlight of my week.

Venette Burnett

Sister Venette is a dear, faithful member of Harmony PBC, one of the sweetest saints of God I’ve ever known, and one I look forward to seeing every Sunday. Her life is a fine example of obedient discipleship and dedication to the cause of Christ.
