Who Are These People?

The time is here, prep work has been done, prayers to God been made for some time now and expectations of good things to come are indeed being looked for. When I first came to the Primitive Baptist, I never experienced annual meetings or gathered together with people of different parts of the country to worship the Lord. My first experience was at my new church home Little Flock PBC in Mansfield, Ark. Elder Ray Pyles was my pastor. We were a small membership with a small church house, so we set up a tent. A two-pole tent. After working on its erection, being new, I did not know anything about what would happen next. I had brought my children along to help, but they played more than worked. Some of the women were in the kitchen preparing food and we sat for a prayer and meal. As my custom, I began to observe what others were talking about paying very close attention to what was being said.

"Brother so in so will be here from California."
"Yes, and also I hear Elder Lowrance is coming up from Hot Springs."
"Sonny Pyles sends his regrets he will not make it this year".

As I sat there I wondered, WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? When folks started to arrive the members of Little Flock would go up to them and ask, "Do you have a place to stay?" Being the newest member, I was too shy to ask anyone to come to my house, but later I wished I had done so. If memory serves, there were 11 Elders there that weekend. Not all of them preached preached but I heard humble petitions to God as I had never heard before from these men of God. I have not been to a meeting like this for some years now. Those I did attend were Primitive Baptist pep rallies and did not seem to have the old spiritual presence of the Lord. I pray we of Harmony PBC will first seek God in our meeting and honor our savior to the point revival will spring forth and all that are ordained unto eternal life will serve the Lord in spirit and truth sincerely.
