Throughly Furnished

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." (II Timothy 3:16-17)

The word "throughly" is not used much in common English parlance anymore. We would likely say "thoroughly" instead. There is a great deal of truth lurking in that term. Consider this: If the Lord told you he “throughly furnished” your home why would you ever shop for a couch? And if you’re couch shopping, to what degree do you believe your house to be “throughly furnished”?

That’s a very convicting question that we do well to consider.
