Against Absolute Predestination

You'll find below an excerpt of the critique of Elder Gilbert Beebe's 1880 article in support of the Absolute Predestination of All Things (APOAT) that I have been working on. Beebe's work is considered by some to be the finest article ever written on the doctrine of Absolute Predestination.

The bible teaches that there are both ACTIVE and PERMISSIVE decrees and that this is required to maintain the distinction between GOOD and EVIL found throughout the scriptures. We have often preached against the error of saying, "The devil made me do it." In opposing APOAT, we are preaching against the error of saying, "God made me do it."
