Five Years in Prison
Due to foolish, ungodly decisions I ended up in prison and lost five years of my freedom, that freedom included not being in my son’s life. It was in the darkest dungeon where the light of Jesus Christ shined into my heart and made the love of God for this foolish sinner realer than ever before. Truth be told I did not get converted in prison, I entered the system a born again Christian. I tried to straddle the fence but as many know that does not work. Our Heavenly Father send chastisement my way and I believe that He saved me from myself, I lived a very self destructive lifestyle and was headed for a early grave. He did this not because there’s something special about me but because He moved with grace like He does with the rest of His children. In prison I lost a lot and was angry with God and played the “victim stance”. I started to pray to a demon named “Santa Muerte” which is the Grim Reaper. I told God that I hated Him and knew that He hated me but in my heart I knew that I was lying to myself and that God never forsook me and that He kept me save in such a hateful place. I finally hit rock bottom after three years and realized that living a hate filled life would get me nowhere. How can I say that God hated me when I knew that the very air that filled my lungs came from the One that I claimed to hate. I remember like it was yesterday. I was in lockup and fell to my knees and cried out to Jesus our Lord to save me, at that very moment I felt the Holy Ghost fill the cell and there was so much love that I could feel it within and on the outside. The light of Jesus Christ our Savior is warm and full of love. The prodigal son finally came home and the Father ran to him. By the grace of God I spent the rest of my time being about His business. He sent so many men into my life, in the form of prison ministry, and I still call them “friends” to this day (you know who you are). God opened the door for me to join them in the ministry. It began with them visiting me in prison to walking into the prison with them. It’s a beautiful thing to walk out of the system and not being looked at as a mess up and being invited to eat dinner.
Dear friends, I write this not to blow my own horn but to show the love of God. If you are one of His you’re a new creature and He is with you no matter what! Believe me no matter how alone you may feel Christ Jesus is with you always, there’s nothing that can separate you from the love of God and He proved His love on the cross. Remember the world and Satan hate you and the Devil will try to put it in your head God has forgotten about you but he is a liar. We are sealed with the Holy Ghost and He lives within you. So no matter what you are going through or where you are the Most High is with you.
Peace and love...

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
Brother Tony and I have been acquainted for several years through interactions online and on social media. It has been a blessing to hear of his journey to the Primitive Baptist church and I wanted to share his testimony of God’s goodness in his life.
